I live in San Antonio (moved from NY) and I'm a Spurs fan. But I just most recently have started an obesession with Allen Iverson. I mean, I always used to think he was kinda cute but never really paid that much attention to him. I honestly have no idea what struck the whole new interest. Razz

And I am wowed by his life story! I knew he was poor growin' up but not THAT poor... It's amazing how far he's gotten. His talent is truly God-given.

Last year 2004, the USA Olympics came to my hometown Jacksonville, Fla. I was SOOOO excited about seeing him again. All over the radio were commercials talking about what NBA players are throwing parties. When I heard A.I's commercial I almost flipped in my seat. Thank God, I was 19 and could get into the club. Of course my friends and me got all dressed up because it was suppose to be nothing but celebrities in there. When the day finally came, last mintue preparations were going on at my friend Tece's house. The doors opened at 9'clock and and we arrived around 9:30. When we first arrived it was sort of boring because no one special was there. We bought VIP tickets in advance so we were in the VIP section on the stage. Things started picking up around 11:00pm. I seen Jacksonville Jaguar players everywhere but that wasn't nothing to me because we see them every other week seems like. Finally the Olypmic Team(most of them) arrived and it was soo sureal. Carmelo Anthony was walking in our area and my friend Melinda asked him to take a picture. He said he'll come back and take it for her later, he never came back I'm 5'9 and I had on heels he was like the Jolly Green Giant beside me. After that little incident I finally spotted A.I across the stage in the DJ's booth with some more NBA players. All of my friends and me went over there to the DJ booth thinking we were about to get in because we have VIP wrist bands on. To our surprise they were not letting anyone in there unless the players picked you themselves. I was SOOOO It pissed me off because half of them already came with girls and the ones they picked to come in were TRASH! One girl convinced the bouncer to let her friend and her to come by whispering something in his Ugly ass ear. After that we decided to go around to the other end closer to A.I. The club was packed like sardines, so it was hell getting over there. When we finally did get there A.I had his back turned from us and was talking to Shawn Marion. All the girls over there was calling his name to make him turn around. One girl was getting yelled at by a bouncer because she was flashing the camera in the players face. While she was getting yelled at, I was exactly behind him and I touched HIS BACK! He turned slightly around and I snapped a picture but someone called his name so he turned back around. That was good enough for me so me and my friends went back to the other end again. This time I saw a so-called friend of mind that I thought could get me in because he was alreadyin the VIP section with A.I. He was acting SO STANK! He said if I give him $20 I can get in. I said forget that! So me and my friend Tece stood over there for awhile and ended up seeing a fight break out. It was quickly broken up. I don't know if I was seeing things or not but I believe I caught his eye at least 2 times . Maybe it was just me. I was holding up my camera phone with a picture of him in it. After a while I had to go to the restroom, when I came out the players where leaving. So we went outside. Allen had already left. Tracy Mcgrady was getting into a stretch Hummer limo, before he did my friend Tece took a picture of him. One of Tracy's friend asked my friend Christina and us to come go with them. Christina FAST ASS was the 1st one to get in. Tece told Christina to come back out. Tece was about to get in when the boy stopped her because she had a camera in her hand. That right there let me know they were up to no good(Hesaid no CAMERAS, babugirl).I told Tece she better come on with Christina. When they came out Christina was looking . She quickly got over it because her dad came to pick her up. Thank God he didn't embarras her. My friends and I stayed and least another hour because everyone was in the parking lot. It was kinda like a car show.Off the top of my head I remember seeing: Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Stephon Marcury, Carmelo Anthony, Shawn Marion, Emeka Okafor, Lamar Odom, Roland Powell, Fred Taylor, Paul Spicer, Dewayne Wade and a whole lot of other people. After all that exceiment and dissapointment the next day I went to the game. USA vs. Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, Allen Iverson and Lebron James didn't even play for coming late to the team meeting. I was sitting on the same side of the USA team and A.I was in my view.Although he was watching the game, he seemed like he wasn't really that focused on the game. I seen him cleaning his nails out and later I seen him talking to one of the water boys. The waterboy left and came back to him with an orange. Can you believe he was eating an orange at a game? After the USA won of course we went to the bus loading area. We waited about 20 minutes before they came out I seen Stephon Marbury first with his wife and kids. Then Emeka Okafor and a few other players went on the bus. When Allen came out my silly self forgot to mash the zoom button. He was wearing A white tee, black shorts, black cap and and I believe it was a Louis Vuttion or Gucci book bag. But he waived at the fans real quick and got on the bus. I met him and I was stuck on stupid for a minute. He was really sweet. My homegirls boyfriend knows some of the guys he hangs out with and we met him at applebees. Very Happy
