Like Mike?

Mad lyrics: The transcript of A.I.'s emotional press conference has surfaced. Click here to read it. Yes, it's been PG'ed.

Hollywood: OK, you heard it here first... Allen Iverson will be appearing in a movie starring Lil' Bow Wow this summer called Like Mike. He plays himself in the role, along with Rasheed Wallace, Karl Malone, Matt Geiger and David Robinson. More to come later...

Aftermath

Just some recent developments to what may be a very interesting offseason. Here's an interesting article on how the Sixers were trying to let Iverson sound off during the press conference. And a source says Iverson has hired agent Leon Rose (since firing David Falk in March 1999), whose is also Aaron McKie's agent. Hmmm...wonder what that's about? Anyways, Reebok wants people to know they're still showing love for A.I. BTW, I've added a new poll question, which seems more appropriate.

E-mail: for those who e-mailed me for the past week or so, I won't be able to access my account till tomorrow, sorry about that.

I ain’t goin’ nowhere

Letting out the pain: A.I. went off in an emotional press conference yesterday. I watched the entire press conference live, raw as you can get. You could tell A.I. was hurt, especially when he talked about losing his best friend (Rahsaan Langeford), losing the season, and having to deal with s--- about trade rumours...A.I. just let it all out: Practice? Most vehement player. A star is worn.

Brown responds: Coach Brown had his press conference today and said that he and Iverson will both stay with Sixers. After telling the media about how his daughter was being bothered by trade rumours, Coach Brown told A.I. not to worry. “I told him, ’You can tell your daughter not to worry about it. Daddy’s going to be living in Philadelphia,”’ Brown said.

Clip of both press conferences (Windows Media): 56k | 300k.

Only time will tell: It's amazing how everything can go downhill after losing...and how everything seems fine when your winning. But the Brown-Iverson has been lingering for quite some time (everything seemed fine last year, since they were winning). It's like winnig is deodorant of all stink. The way I see it is the only way the Sixers will return to championship caliber is through Larry Brown and Allen Iverson. If they can really work it out this summer, then next season looks bright. But if they can't, then maybe someone's gotta go.

Iverson says, "I'm gone!"

Dare they trade A.I.? The trade rumours are blooming, and even A.I. seems to think he's going, telling fans, "I'm gone!" Dare They? Can They? But a problem arises, who can actually compare to A.I.? His box-office appeal overshadows Wilt, Dr. J and Barkley. Article: Philly's priceless big man. The only likely would be Iverson for Vince Carter, but there's no way Vince Carter can compare to A.I. If this fiasco ends up to be "I stay, you go" between Brown and Iverson, I'd rather see Brown go - 'nuff said.

More: With season over, controversy just beginning.

Ashanti Stood Up By A.I. Apparently, A.I. was supposed to appear in Ashanti's new music vid "Happy," but due the the playoffs, wasn't able to attend.

It's my way or the highway

The Sixers cleaned out their lockers at the FU center yesterday & departed for summer. Larry Brown spoke to reporters about the changes that they'll make in the off-season - it's the right or the highway. "We're going to do everything we can to have guys on this team doing it the right way, and if they're not willing to do that, they simply won't be here," Brown said. Brown still has problems with Iverson as he did 5 years ago - tardiness and a refusal to practice every day. Something must change. There is no question Iverson wants to win a championship, and, as he says, plays every game as if it is his last. Still, will he make the sacrifice? And what if he does not? During the summer of 2000, the Sixers almost negotiated a trade involving four teams that would have sent Iverson packing, but a clause in Matt Geiger's contract nullified the deal. Now, there's speculation that the Sixers will trade Iverson, possibly to Toronto for Vince Carter, but nothing is certain. One thing is for sure...it should be a hell of an offseason.

Sixers' season ends

That's it folks. Despite climbing back from a 2-game deficit, the Sixers were flattened in Game 5 by the Celts 120 to 87. In the battle between the superstars, there really was "No Answer For The Truth" as Paul Pierce scored 46 (8-10 3pt) and A.I. scored 31 (11-24 fg). "It was just tough, because this was it. One and you're done. You're supposed to leave everything you've got out there on the floor, and for some reason, I don't think we did that," Iverson said. A.I. played a great game, but couldn't get any help from his teammates, plus the fact that Boston shot 19-29 three's was unbelievable.

Questions unanswered. Will Larry Brown be back? Yup, it looks that way...for now. Can coach and star bounce back together? A.I. says he has no problem with Brown. Out, but now down.

Staying Alive

See you in Boston. The Sixers once again showed heart and resilience by staying alive and beating Boston 83-81. Although off a less-than-spectacular 9-of-26 shooting, A.I. made crucial clutch plays in the 4th and finished with 28 pts. Once again Sixers face a final and deciding game Friday night. Despite the TNT panel (Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley) predicting a Celts victory, I still don't think this is Boston's year. Damn...it's gonna be good.
More: You gotta have heart: Iverson did, Celts didn't | It wasn't pretty, but city has reason to hope.

All-NBA 2nd Team. The reigning MVP was selected to the All-NBA second team this year. LB thinks its "neat" considering the games A.I. missed due to injury.

Predicament. Alright, I know I've promised video clips in April and it's May now. The thing is, the video take up a lot of bandwidth (money, bling-bling)...but if the Sixers do win their game 5, then...
