Put away the brooms Posted Monday, April 29, 2002 by webmaster
It ain't over yet...Despite the cloud of controversy, and their backs against the wall, the Sixers put up a spectacular fight forcing game 4 by beating the Celts 108 to 103. A.I. dropped 42 points, made 19/20 free throws and 5 steals, while DC made a crucial tip-in in the dying moments. A.I. doesn't like the title "franchise player," but there's no denying. But don't forget the Sixers are only one game away from packing their bags, so be prepared for another fight for survival in game 4 Wednesday night.
Now or Never Posted Friday, April 26, 2002 by webmaster
Things don't look to good as the Sixers are on the brink of elimination after losing game two to the Celtics 93, 85. That's right, one more loss and it's summer vacation. No really, I can't believe it either. The defending East champs facing elimination to a team that has no playoff experience whatsoever?
It gets worse. Please don't tell me it's another Brown and Iverson feud. Obviously, both are showing signs of frustration. Game three on Sunday is win or go home. And if the Sixers lose, it might just be Allen Iverson's last game as a Sixer.

No one, knew if A.I. was going to play game 1 of the round 1 playoffs against Boston, but when he was cleared in the morning by doctors, he "felt like a kid on Christmas morning." However, missing the last 14 games proved to have an effect as A.I. finished only with 20 points off 4 of 15 shooting. In game one of the 2002 playoffs, the Celtics splattered the Sixers 92 to 82.
On Game One: Iverson missing in action, Let's hope Iverson's shot was hurting, Loud crowd no problem for A.I.
Winding Down Posted Tuesday, April 16, 2002 by webmaster
One is the number of games left before the playoffs start (yee-uh), as they play Indiana tomorrow night. After clinching the playoffs with a sweet victory over Orlando (yes, it's true) but losing to Chicago (LB rested Deke, DC and McKie) Sixers can finish anywhere from 4th to 7th seed. Eric Snow has really carried the M*A*S*H unit and was named player of the week. A.I. was cleared to shoot the basketball after practice today and looks like he's coming along, but still has a bit of soring. Hopefully he's cleared for the first playoff game.
Cast Away Posted Thursday, April 11, 2002 by webmaster
The Sixers lost an embarrasing one last nite to the MJ-less Wiz, 90-77. They could have clinched a playoff berth with a win. The only good thing is that Snow (career high 26) is playing at a high level. Just ask Kobe. A.I. had his cast removed today, and wants to play the last game of the regular season...Coach Brown says no, "I know if it was up to him, he'd play with the cast on." His hand was placed in a splint and he'll begin rehab Friday. Should he play before or after the playoffs start (see poll)?
M*A*S*H: Do you realize that Iverson missed 17 games (and counting), Aaron McKie missed 32 (and counting), Derrick Coleman missed 24, and Eric Snow missed 21? Sound like last year? Curse of the Philly Sixers?
The Li(v)e - Did you miss The Life on ESPN? Don't cry (yes, girls), the last showing is Saturday, April 20 @ 10:30 PM ESPN2, otherwise, you can wait till I get it online.
The Life Recap Posted Saturday, April 6, 2002 by webmaster
Remember I told you to tune in to ESPN's "The Life," feat A.I.? Yeah, ya'll welcome... But for those who missed it, don't worry, I'll put up the clips and caps soon. Here's what went down on the show...
What's a day in the life of Allen Iverson like? "The Life" cameras followed A.I. for a day in Philly, a town where every citizen loves him. Gary Moore, his personal manager, takes care of everything: from getting his clothes, calling Dionne (his 24-hour on call hairstylist), to driving him to the arena. MO picks up A.I. at his crib and heads to the game. A.I. talks about his everyday life, and it ain't all rosy. "My body hurt(s) so much sometimes that I don't even want to get up and go to a game." Cameras follow A.I. through the arena, into the locker room, and on to the court. The stuff you never see on NBC. On the sidelines is A.I's biggest fan, his ma, who even has her own mom's edition basketball card. The Sixers play hard and get the "W". After the game, the mood is good, A.I. gets his hair braided in his car, while his ma takes pictures with Coach Brown. The day ends, A.I. goes home, and it starts all over again.
THE LIFE web site has a lot of facts on A.I. Did you know that Iverson is neighbors with "Sixth Sense" director M. Night Shyamalan?
One more thing, I should tell you that I'm working on a completely new version of the site that should be up in the next few weeks. It's gonna be beyond anything you've seen before.

Thanks to heroics of Aaron McKie, the Sixers dragged through a 89-83 victory over the Suns in overtime. Somebody has finally stepped up, which is a good sign. Sixers landed in 5th place, a 3-way tie with Charlotte and Milwaukee. All they have to do is hold the fort for 8 more games...BTW, that's a throwback No. 15 Hal Greer Sixers jersey A.I. is wearing.
How much longer? Posted Monday, April 1, 2002 by webmaster
Things aren't looking good as the Sixers lost another battle to Toronto 72-70. The game was the Sixers' fourth in five days and its fifth in a row without A.I. Iverson did not attend the game. He was said to have called Brown beforehand to tell him that his son was ill. Sixers have dropped to 7th place in the playoff race with 8th place Indiana only 1.5 games behind. With 9 games remaining, this is the Sixers final stand. I wouldn't be surprised to see A.I. play soon, even with a cast. The first 5,000 fans in attendance at Weds game against the Suns (7pm) will receive an Allen Iverson headband. Tune in to ESPN's "The Life", featuring Allen Iverson on Thursday, April 4th at 7:30pm ET on ESPN. I added a new online store for various A.I. stuff.
