Larry Brown: Allen Iverson can still play
by Dal on Apr.07, 2009, under Uncategorized
Larry Brown has heard all the speculation. He’s heard everything, from people saying Allen Iverson won’t draw a lot of interest as a free agent this summer to Iverson’s best bet might be to reunite with Brown in Charlotte.
Brown, speaking before his Bobcats lost to the Pistons on Sunday, said he wouldn’t bet on either scenario.
“There will definitely be a lot of interest in him,” Brown said. “It’s not a time for me, but Allen is a special guy. He’s going to compete every night and try to win. I hope things work out for him.”
“I am just disappointed,” Brown said of the failed Iverson project in Detroit. “I feel bad for Allen because I remember how excited he was (when the trade happened) and how he thought this was going to be his chance to win a championship.”
The Pistons shut Iverson down for the rest of the season and playoffs on Friday.

i think iverson shuldve stayed at the 76ers..to be honest hes the best player in the nba and he is my favorite player and he is better than lebron and kobe together anyone is better than dem but ai shouldlve stayed wit da 76ers.Ai go out and do watu do!!!!!!!!!!
July 2nd, 2009 on 6:59 am
he’s also my favorite player but to say that he is better than lebron and kobe together is a little extream. kobe and lebron are excellent players. i just feel that iverson deserves a ring more than any other player in the nba
August 2nd, 2009 on 9:45 pm
iverson should go bac point guard lead a team to the playoffs which any team he sign wit like miami, philly, cleveland, and knicks
May 11th, 2009 on 5:11 pm
ai will; win a championship next year
May 12th, 2009 on 9:19 pm
I believe in “The Answer”
May 17th, 2009 on 12:12 pm
The best thing Iverson should do is go back to Philly and lead that team to the championship next year. Take less money and sign with the team that stuck by his side all those years. Philly has the inside presence now with Dalembert and Brand, has the wing player and true PG in the 2 Andre’s. What’s not to like? Even if he has to come off the bench.
May 18th, 2009 on 7:47 am
I think it too. I think that AI should come back to sixers and start at the beggining. Forgot all the last seasons out to Philly and start again.
i think if he’ll go to the bobcats that will be mean that his is thinking in retire, he has to play in a great team and the bobcats only have OKAFOR, AI has to come back to sixers and work it out!!!
May 18th, 2009 on 3:44 pm
i hope ai goes to the blazers
blazers are a young team and are very goood
the only reason is that they didnt go that far is becuz their young
if they get a veteran leader like ai they will win the championship
sixers r a great team for him 2
May 18th, 2009 on 11:50 pm
We believe in “AI”!!!!
We support him all the way. He would be an asset to whatever team he joins.
We are routing for you..
Wait till the “ANSWER” is back.
May 19th, 2009 on 9:15 am
your all stupid ai is a loser he’ll only win a chapmpionship a)coming off the bench b)playing overseas which is the type of move a person like him would make cuz thats the only way hes gonna ever get big money again peace ai sucks cAWNSER
May 20th, 2009 on 5:30 am
Go AI your the best. NO KOBE NO LeBron Iverson is the best. And detroit has the badest GM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Back to the 76ers and win the champichip!!!!!!!
Comeone do it like the old days

76ers should sign him
May 26th, 2009 on 12:15 pm

May 27th, 2009 on 3:35 am
lol @ George if AI is such a loser what r u doin on here
May 27th, 2009 on 4:35 pm
Iverson needs more help……Lebron needs more help. I think they should help each other and get on the same team……Iverson and Lebron….come on baby, you do the math….!!!!
May 28th, 2009 on 4:03 pm
Actually Chez, how does allen iverson need more help if hes not on a team yet?
and george, who is ur favorite player.
May 28th, 2009 on 4:05 pm
and lebron doesnt need more help
his team is good enough to make it to the semifinals
May 28th, 2009 on 4:05 pm
i mean semi conference finals
May 30th, 2009 on 10:46 am
I don’t see why every team is trying to change AI, if kobe or lebron was traded no one would try to change them. jus let Ai be himself n he and da team will do well
May 30th, 2009 on 12:25 pm
marcus, they want to change ai becuz they dont like his style of playing
they want him to shoot less
May 31st, 2009 on 5:17 pm
i just hope iverson comes back and is treated right i’m one of his biggest fans
June 1st, 2009 on 6:13 pm
A.I is my hero only cuz he’s one to look up 2 and hes tha best. I know he has it in him, itz just that wen he finds tha rite teem, itll be unleeshed. The Answer will not stop until he is a hall of famer (which he probably alredy is)with a championship ring, another mvp award and a retired jersey number from philly and wateva other teem he’s in wen he wins (hopefully #3 not #1). Honestly, perhaps no other teem undastands a.i better than philly. The Answer all the way!
June 4th, 2009 on 4:11 pm
Yeah your totally right Prodigy. You see this is kind of off topic, but remember when they asked him to sit on the bench. And for who , Rodney Stuckey?? I mean come on man even I would disagree on sitting on the bench when Allen Iverson is a goddamn hall of famer! So I disagree with people who say that Iverson is still the same as he was when he was young. Cause remember he really wanted to change to win a championship with the pistons. But I guess things couldnt work out. It’s all good though because Iverson will Relapse!!!
June 2nd, 2009 on 6:00 pm
i said it was once and i will say it again
ai will win a championship next year
woooooooooooooooooo
June 4th, 2009 on 4:13 pm
Ok now “John”. Iverson will not win a championship next year but he will eventually. Just be patient and cross your finger. But I like your attitude!!!:D
June 4th, 2009 on 4:06 pm
This is very true allen iverson should go to a team that HE HIMSELF can lead with all the supporters behind. I still beleive that he still has it in him to lead a team, maybe not to a championship but I can bet that those stats that he had in his early days, WILL be back! Shout out to all the AI fans keep on being the fan that you are and dont give up on the greatest player of all time that we call ALLEN IVERSON <3 NO HOMO
June 5th, 2009 on 5:27 pm
actually AI fan til u die, u dont even know what team he goes to so u cant say if ai wont when a championship next season
u never may know
thatz y hes called THE answer
June 6th, 2009 on 1:19 am
It doesn’t matter where A.I. goes as long as he’s a starter and gets his minutes. Alot of people don’t realize that A.I. sacrificed his game in Detroit. Instead of him being the “killer” he is, he was out there standing around going through the offense and setting pick like the Pistons wanted him too. I hate when people who talk about how he ruined the Pistons when they only watched 5 games that were televised and box scores. The only times he scored really for Detroit is when he created his own shot, when in transition, or when plays were ran for him (which were all rarely).
If Detroit let their pride sit aside, and realize that 2004 Detroit team is not there anymore, and that style of play is gone, also that Rodney Stuckey is a horrible perimeter defender(did u see him get abused all year especially when he defended Billups) and not ready to run a show like Rondo. Then maybe things could have taken a 180 turn.
Therefore as a true Iverson fan & game watcher not looking at box scores and assuming (not to forget he technically was still the leading pistons scorer with only about 18 ppg, and leader in assists with about 5.5, tells you how good those Piston players really are) One very off year, but still the best on the team has alot to say about the team and organization, not just one player.
Also as a true Iverson fan and from the Mid Atlantic region (Delaware) I would love to see A.I. back with the Sixers. With a good Andre Iguodala(not the unskilled not shooting and dribbling 2nd year player he was) and Elton Brand (a former all-star & the one true big man scorer he was always looking for) anything less than a trip to the finals would be a disappointment. But wherever he goes he’ll still be the same.
Another thing i wanted to address really quick was when Chris Webber said A.I. was the best player he ever played with, but at the same time bad mouthed him about being a ball hog and not passing the ball on pick and roll & pick and pops. And Yes we’re talking about the same Chris Webber who when traded to Philadelphia his career was basically over, and by the grace of Allen Iverson averaged 20.2 ppg, 9.9 boards, 3.4 ass, 1.4 stl, and 1 blk.
Also I hate when people talk about how he’s getting old and breaking down. Didn’t Kobe come in the league the same year, Steve Nash, Ray Allen, Marbury, etc. You never hear that about them?????
So, Where Will Allen Iverson End Up Next Season?
The Question will be Answered again???????
G R E A T N E S S
June 7th, 2009 on 2:42 pm

d only thing i have 2 say 2 all d heater of my boy A.I. June 17th, 2009 on 8:26 pm
ASK TAWANNA WHO FATHERED HER LAST CHILD THAT SHE GAVE BIRTH TO IN OCTOBER 2008. IT CERTAINLY WASN’T ALLEN. ALLEN IVERSON IS NOT THE FATHER OF HER LAST CHILD AND SHE KNOWS IT.
July 9th, 2009 on 9:24 pm
FOOL!!!
how did you know that?
were you the father?
dream on, buddy…!!!
are you a poster child?
you seem to have a problem?
July 1st, 2009 on 11:24 pm
first off, Iverson is too gr8 of a player to be put on the Pistons. A team where there are good players he was bound to not fit in, he tried but its like they were not feeling him as a teammate and it messed up the chemistry and trust they needed to win games. The Piston players are self centered, and I just dont think they wanted him at all…He should infact go back to Philly and lead them to the championship
July 3rd, 2009 on 3:29 pm
i think ai is truly great at 6,0 nothing he is truly special he works hard and he plays to win he needs to go somewhere he can be himself not where hes to worried about passing or getting others involved thats when hes his best. I hope he wins his championship he really deserves it.
July 6th, 2009 on 8:01 pm
George,if that’s ya real name,I should kick your ass for saying that if you were here right now.If anyone agrees with me, reply to logan3rules@yahoo.com.Go IVERSON!
But Allen, you should head to either back to Philly or in Charlotte.
July 9th, 2009 on 7:06 am
Mr. Iverson…The way the leauge is treating you is horrible. The media is no better. YOu have always been a beast on the hardwood and I know that you still are. I would still place you in the top five guards in the leauge. You have been an NBA warrior since day one and I for one, have enjoyed watching you snap these fool’s ankles. Good luck to you my brother. I hope that wherever you land that you put all of the naysayers to shame! Do not let the HATERS win. Keep being AI……God Bless!
July 9th, 2009 on 9:07 pm
Curry is not a coach.. he is just pretnding to be.. if AI would have a coach like larry brown… or those who know to orchestrate a team.. definitly.. ai will have a better shot at the championship ring.. and “coach” Curry.. you SUCK!
July 9th, 2009 on 9:19 pm
HEY!! to all Naysayers!!!1
walk the walk before you talk the talk..
i bet most of those who criticize IVERSON does not know or can not play basketball at all..

July 19th, 2009 on 6:33 pm
also i dont think his going to cavs possible but they signed some ppl antonhy parker jamiron moon so allen iverson would have to take least money and pass the ball more and not take all the shots and a big question will be can LEBRN JAMES AND ALLEN IVERSON WORK TOGETHER SHAQ DOESNT CARE HE NOES HE AINT THE MAN NO MORE BUT THEY MIGTH SING HIM MIGTH NOT WILL SEE
