Detroit coach Curry glad Iverson won’t be back in Detroit
by Dal on Apr.05, 2009, under Uncategorized
Michael Curry, coach the of Detroit Pistons, believes Allen Iverson can still be a starting player in the NBA, but according to the Philly.com Curry is glad to know it won’t be in the Motor City.
Iverson, who had missed a stretch of 16 games with a sore back, came off the bench for three games before — ostensibly because of the injury — Detroit sidelined him for the rest of the season, Philly.com reported.
“He’s still a starter in this league,” Curry said. “He’s still going to have success in this league. He’s probably going to have to, once again, adapt a little bit . . . because I’m not sure how many teams will be centered around him.”

Curry needs to go. There is so much drama going on with this guy and his players that it seems like all the talk is about who is playing and who isnt playing rather then the playoff run which they are suddenly falling fast out of. With 5 games to go they to be careful the Bobcats down pass them. Wallace needs to be starting and how does Stucky start and Iverson doesnt?
April 6th, 2009 on 7:17 am
man thats bullshit!
iverson shud be playing no matter which team!
iverson shud atleast be playing for the playoffs!all he wants is to get a championship and he is willing to get detroit over that hump!damn micheal curry is ruining iverson’s career!i rilly hope ai plays for detroit during the playoffs not stuckey!
April 7th, 2009 on 7:45 am
i want iverson out of detroit now !!!!
just ship him out of that stupid team with that stupid coach…!!!!
ship him to bobcats together with it’s owner M.Jordan or just ship iverson back to denver or sixers…
and also, one more thing,.. stuckey and hamilton sucks and stinks…!!!! they know nothing about glory and how to be a true player who plays with his heart… those two only play because they think they’re good, but the truth is…they’re nothing compared to the worst player in the world…!!!!
April 7th, 2009 on 10:53 am
yeah iverson shud transfer to another friggin team who is rilly willing to let him play starter and a playmaker which he really is not I’m Detroit where stupid curry cudnt evn let him play and if he does its only for a few min.days just bullshit to me.iverson is a franchise player and I want to see wat he can do with bobcats and larry brown and mj.and bobcats need a good pg so it’ll be a good trade.
April 8th, 2009 on 10:20 am
curry you are the worst coach ever man, no really, you are the worst guy ever
April 9th, 2009 on 2:10 am
yeah!! I agree with everybody who write on this comments..
AI must be the starter even he is 33 years now..
AI is one of the best player in NBA and his PPG from he start career not less than 20 points..
April 18th, 2009 on 10:02 am
Dude you trippin, iverson would kick your butt without practice anyway. No one knew were he was at that time anyway and WOW!! Iverson missed practice so the way i saw him play in philly and in denver he could miss 16 days of practice.
April 9th, 2009 on 4:57 pm
Allen Iverson is the biggest underachiever of all time. He’s cancer to any and all teams. If the guy won’t even practice, he should not be on the court. HE WILL NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP!
April 11th, 2009 on 4:21 am
allen iverson is one of the best players ever
April 11th, 2009 on 6:29 am
Yo ‘iverson sucks’!
do you think just because iverson missed one or two practices he shudnt play??he misses practice for a prupose and he wouldnt hav become the grea player that he is from his first day of nba till now without practice. You dunno shit about iverson.I believe in iverson and he is my role model. He WILL win a championship.maybe not in detroit but he will.he has worked so hard to getting a ring.i know he will win a championship one day.stay strong ai!
April 14th, 2009 on 10:03 am
what the hell is that owner on u DON’T PLAY AI!!!!!!!
April 15th, 2009 on 5:57 am
F*** the Pistons!! If your not gonna play Iverson, then why the hell did you trade for him? Atleast give him a chance to play his game, Allen Iverson ”The Answer” yeah thats who you traded for! F*** the Pistons organization

it would also be cool if he goes to the blazers
April 20th, 2009 on 4:54 pm
You can’t lay blame on Allen, Bad coaching is at fault. Curry should spend time coaching and stop trying to look pretty Iverson is”The Lord of the Rims
April 20th, 2009 on 8:24 pm
Yo WTH Iverson deserves a championship im glad hes leaving Detroit. I think if he goes to Washington next Season theyll be a top Contender
Starting lineup-
Pg-Gilbert Arena
SG-Allen Iverson
SF-caron Butler
PF-Antawn Jamison
C-(whoever they draft)Possibly Blake Griffin
Im not even a wizards fan but that sounds like a crazy team to me
Curry needs to get fired why would you not start AI?
If AI came to Toronto that would be awesome.
April 23rd, 2009 on 10:02 pm
I want him to be traded! That’s all! I don’t think that Detroit will use him anymore! His career went down when he was traded to Detroit. I hope he will be traded to the team who can give Iverson a chance to perform his natural game.
April 29th, 2009 on 12:17 pm
To the guy/girl who says Iverson sucks, wht planet have u been watching b-ball on. He is the S@#t!He is one of very few players who is WILLING and WANTS to play damn near the whole game w/no break. So now that he is hurt a little everyone wants to bad mouth him. AI will get a ring, he just needs a team who is worthy of him!!!!!!! Luv U 4 Life AI!!!!!!!!
April 29th, 2009 on 4:15 pm
lotz of teamz r worthy od a.i
especcially the blazers
the blazers r a great team and can be the best if they get a veteren leader like a.i
the blazers arent one of the best yet cuz their too ytoung
April 30th, 2009 on 9:49 am
curry is the worst coach in the history of the nba.
he is a very envious person and ugly. the truth is he hate’s allen iverson for selfesh reasons. and most of all what is wrong with joe dumars? how could he lets a punk like michael curry even coach a team like the pistons . I am so gald that they lost in the playoffs because we didn’t have ALLEN IVERSON
May 1st, 2009 on 5:00 pm
joe dumars got allen iverson cuz after they dot rid of iverson they can get a gur like carlos boozer
and they can also get chris bosh. THE PISTONS WILL BE UNSTOPABLE.
can u imagine a team like
. RODNEY STUCKY
RIP HAMILTON
BOSH
BOOZER
MCKDISE
WALLACE
May 4th, 2009 on 12:52 am

May 4th, 2009 on 12:53 am

May 6th, 2009 on 6:21 pm
Allen Iverson is still the answer to any problem. Remember, back in 2001, how he carried the low scoring, low profiled 76ers to the finals and was able to steal a win against the all time powerful Kobe and Shaq duo of the Lakers? Even Michael Jordan admits that the Kobe and Shaq tandem is a very difficult to win ball game. But did A.I. think that? NO! He just played his game and never quitted. He never won the championship but it sure gave the unbelievers something to believe. Allen Iverson went through a lot of struggles in his life. I’m sure that he can get by this one. All you guys should be ashamed comparing Allen Iverson to Chauncey Billups. Let me ask you, did A.I get the help he needed from his teamates to win every ball game? No! (But Billups did) But he won all of it anyway. When A.I was playing with the Denver, where was Carmelo Anthony? But when Billups played for Denver, adjustments where made. The Nuggets was already strong. The Pistons is weak even before Billups left. The Pistons was wrong about A.I. see how the fruits of without-Iverson brought them against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Allen Iverson deserves a team who needs him not a team who blames him even if he isn’t playing for them.
Bobcats, Lakers, Mavericks or even Hawks would benefit from A.I. I would even love to see him play side by side with LeBron.
Wherever you go Allen, we’ll support you.

I’m a AI fan, but it’s getting difficult to stay an AI fan. He has to man up and play ball like Kobe, King James and D-wade. He is right there with them (skills and heart wise) but he doesn’t seem to know it anymore. He always looks depressed when he plays, I never see that “country boy” that used to play with a passion for the game. If he can’t get it right on the next team he might need to retire.(Even coach K refused to pick him up for the Dream Team).
I remember when I was a bit younger someone asked me who my favorite 5 basketball players were @ the time I said…
Iverson
Kobe
KG
Tony Parker
Jason Williams (White chocolate)
They all have rings except for Iverson, sad.
May 11th, 2009 on 11:33 am
Curry showed how good of a coach he was when he couldn’t play two top notch guards together. And with out AI he went to the playoff and made them look like the badnews bears of the NBA. His players had no respect for him and do not believe in him.Wether Iverson ever pick up another B-ball or not he’s a Hall of Famer. The only person that stopped Iverson from getting a championship was Larry Brown(How do Shaq foul out and you make your team smaller than the Lakers twice.Truth about it!!!)In Denver they had no big men or enforcers when Iverson was there.Carmello couldn’t even score.Iverson was back in Philly only worst because he was quote playing with another superstar. There was no Kenyon,Birdman and Nene was an undersize center trying to handle the paint.Paul Gasol had a field day against Denver.Know everyone want to compare AI and Chauncey.George Karl wouldn’t dare point the finger at himself or the organization.
ONLY ONE PERSON IN ALLEN IVERSON CAREER HAD AS MUCH HEART AS HIM AND HE’S 6’6″(MJ),SHAQ SAY’S AI IS A MINI ME (TOUGH AND TAKES A POUNDING NIGHT-IN and NIGHT-OUT)
This is the ANSWER to all critize.AI-AI-AI
May 11th, 2009 on 3:21 pm
Who out there thinks AI is past his prime?
Where do you rank him among best NBA players?
My list is
1. Allen Iverson
and whatever, eat shit Coach Michael Curry, suck some horse a**. LBJ, Kobe, Wade are no where even close to being as good as Ivo, he is much, much, much better. F*** you LBJ suckers.
May 30th, 2009 on 10:14 pm
i wish ai goes to The clippers
it would be a battle in LA
whos the superstar in LA, KOBE OR AI
that would be cool
if ai goes to the clippers they can meet each other
at the western confernce finals
LA VS LA
and if ai goes to the clippers they will go to the western confernce finals cuz the clippers also have the first pick in the draft
June 15th, 2009 on 6:59 am
screw that man the clippers are terrible i cant imagine ai in a clippers jersy he definitly wont win an nba championship on that team. seriously
June 5th, 2009 on 4:24 am
CURRY IS SHIT
June 8th, 2009 on 3:50 pm
man, wat u all no bout ball..a.i is da best dere is..curry cant coach for shit..da guy was a bench warmer for da pistons like 4 years ago..who is curry?..i don get em..da kids a rookie..he doesn no shit..if suanders was dere..he wuld of used a.i da rite way..i mean comon, he mite be 34 but he can put up numbers like kobe..if u gotta use a.i well, den u gotta play da effective way..not like curry..man, wen iverson was winnin da mvp, da socring titles..da allstar mvp’s, da nba first team award..dat time, curry was siitten on his lazy ass, watchin..so curry, don talk..ur shit..n a.i, ur a future hall of famer, so like, even if u don win a championship, which u will, ull still be da best lil man dere is..i mean, a.i is like 6 feet..comon, n he still gets thru da toughest dere is..we all look up to a.i..hes da legend
June 15th, 2009 on 6:57 am
micheal curry is trippin he doesnt know how to use allen iverson one of the greatest nba scorers of all time. he definitly should have gotten the ball more and should NOT be a bench player
June 21st, 2009 on 10:29 am
yeah I agree with you all on that but I think hes goin to the bobcats. Not bad because hell be with larry brown once again. But his season in detroit was a bust because of curry and hamilton. Curry should have let hamilton still come off teh bench because he could still score at will when coming off teh bench. Iverson on teh other needs to establish a rythem and he cant do that on the bench. So curry go screw yourself and hamilton get along with your players
August 19th, 2009 on 1:38 am
im floridian i spend my money to go to watch piston because of A.I Curry man i don’t have time for your bull, im a poor man looking for fun and stress release, i don’t pay to watch a team loosing and im not lucky enough to make free money like you. you think you’re the boss you ain’t shit man, i don’t wish you to lose your job, let’s be fair with ourself stop the bull. I smell it the owner of this team is most likely tired of you than iverson. be carefull bro. any way i don’t even want him to play in the team anymore.
August 19th, 2009 on 1:49 am
wade could make it further this year, unfortunately there wasn’t someone that could do the job when he is tired. i don’t see him as a champion with the heat cuase they also need a good center, but my point is they are too many team that need a man like A.I free him
